A decision for Boris Johnson
I've had a nasty thought.
The recommended candidate's name is now with the PM, which is the hold-up in the official process of the White Smoke rising to acclaim the apointment of the next NHS Pope, chosen candidate Amanda Pritchard.
The problem is that this might look like a decision to Mr Johnson.
A man who doesn't make decisions: one who leaves issues until they become a crisis and there are no options left.
So potentially, we end up with Simon Stevens off on a boat sailing very fast somewhere, and the PM appointing Dido Harding by mistake.
