Obviously, proper readers see through our gloomy carapace to our inner child - and promptly get it taken into care. You can't be too cautious these days.

However, today I can bring glad tidings of great joy.

Further to our report that Deputy PM Nick 'Muscular' Clegg has announced that the Bill must repeat the Committee stage with all the amendments to come, it has come to my attention that a new chair can be chosen from the Chairman's Panel.

Which is now the domain of ex-health select committee member Nadine Dorries MP.

Few things could be more wonderful than the prospect of the woman who, in the delightful phrase of Dawn Primarolo, "has asserted many things to be facts that are not"taking chairmanship of the contentious committee stage of the redrafted Bill.

Rejoice in the Good News! There is a God, and She must be pissing herself laughing.
